Bishop Robert Barron recently released a YouTube sermon in which he discussed the "lesser lights" of truth in false religions. Bishop Barron asked "can people find salvation by means of these lesser lights?" and he answered "Yes." The answer is nuanced, but it asserts that contrary to John 14:6 that false religions have "other means" by which people can be saved THROUGH elements of their false religion. It's true that other religions "contain truth" but can other religions "be the means" of salvation (Vatican 2's Lumen Gentium)? Dr. Taylor Marshall tries to isolate the distinction and where Bishop Barron should adjust since this again confirms his words with Ben Shapiro that "Christ is the privileged way."
