You and I need Jesus. We sing about how much we need Him. We pray, “Jesus help me; I need You.” We’ve felt His presence and known that we had been with Jesus. We’ve experienced the salvation, grace, forgiveness, and mercy of Jesus. Sometimes, we’ve seen His miracles or experienced His life surging through our own.
Despite our feelings, the miracles we’ve heard reported, the success we’ve seen on the mission fields, today a growing number of Christians intensely yearn to be with Jesus.
I’ve experienced what I can only describe as the “kiss of God” in my life, events that were so spectacular I could never understand why they happened to me…until now. They always came when my self-confidence was at its lowest. In fact, that’s exactly what needed to happen so I would learn to trust Him.
At these times, you and I are completely dependent upon God, knowing we can do nothing in our own strength. The cry of a desperate heart is the fertile soil in which the glory of God can be manifested. When we move out, Jesus can move in and meet our needs.
