Green Beret Congressman Shuts Down Airhead Ocasio Cortez for Claiming she served in War’

Socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is in news yet again for yet another boneheaded statement.
And this time the first Green Beret in Congress is shutting her down.
Claiming the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was “extraordinarily traumatic” for her, Ocasio-Cortez claimed the event means she “effectively served in war” and needed the same mental health support services as combat veterans.
Claiming she “served in war” is somehow not the stupidest thing she’s said this year, but it drew a quick reaction from Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL.)
Waltz is a combat veteran and the first Green Beret elected to Congress.
“January 6 was a terrible day for sure and those involved will be brought to justice but this is a sad and ignorant comparison to make…and a disservice to those who actually served,” Waltz posted to Twitter.
“AOC doesn’t know what it’s like to come under attack by machine-gun fire, mortars or RPGs,” Waltz continued.
“She hasn’t seen the horror of roadside IED explosions on bystanders & children. She hasn’t lost fellow soldiers on the battlefield or seen friends permanently disfigured by Taliban attacks,” he tweeted.
“Don’t use false equivalencies to make a point. Especially as it relates to war,” Waltz ended.
It’s not the first Ocasio-Cortez claimed to be “traumatized.” In a heavily-mocked 2019 Instagram video, she claimed her luxury apartment’s garbage disposal “scared the daylights out of me” and asked followers to explain the device, which utterly confused her.
