Unelected president Joe Biden is planning to deliver his first State of the Union address tonight. Undoubtedly, he'll try to spin his way out of all the mistakes he's made since taking office. One thing he can't disguise, however, is how poorly most Americans think he's doing. Church Militant's Kim Tisor has more.
The most recent national surveys of American voters indicate Joe Biden bombed his first year in office. Fifty-six percent of Americans labeled his presidency, so far, a failure, according to a Marist Poll released Friday. The poll also revealed 54% of respondents believe he's "not fulfilling campaign promises."
President Joe Biden: "I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide but unify."
When asked if the country was going in the right direction, only 30% thought so. A recent Fox News poll reflected nearly identical results.
Man in the park: "The polls speak for themselves. I think he's probably the worst president in American history."
Poll after poll paints the same abysmal picture. A joint ABC News/Washington Post survey released Friday, reveals just 37% of voters approve of Biden's job performance. Disappointed Americans are most concerned with inflation, which has reached a 40-year high.
Other failures plaguing Biden's presidency are his handling of the pandemic, neglect at the southern border, supply-chain disruptions, foreign policy debacles and skyrocketing crime rates. Any other workers with a comparable list of failures would hear:
Former President Donald Trump: "You're fired!"
Perhaps dissatisfied voters' silver lining rests in poll results projecting multiple midterm victories for Republican candidates this November. It's worth noting that among registered independent voters, GOP candidates are leading by 14 points ahead of the midterms.
