Rogue FBI Agent Snagged on Way Out of Country With Lifted Secrets
FBI spy arrested
Kash Patel’s FBI frowns on selling classified intelligence. Attorney General Pam Bondi can’t wait to prosecute and imprison Johnathan Buma. The agent was a card carrying member of the Hillary Clinton Fan Club and was “critical of the bureau dating back to President Trump’s first term.”
He was upset that the bureau was more interested in prosecuting Hunter Biden’s ties to Burisma than going after Rudy Giuliani.
On Monday, March 17, Buma was arrested at “JFK Airport and charged with illegally disclosing classified intel.” Specifically, he “circulated his draft of a book.” That wasn’t his only offense.
Until his arrest, Buma worked in counterintelligence. The FBI nabbed him “just as he was about to hop on an international flight.”
According to charging documents, he “printed confidential materials from the FBI and then shared the trove with associates in 2023.”
He may have disguised his spying under the cover of a book but it sure wasn’t fiction.

Obtained through his position
“The book draft,” prosecutors relate, “contained information that Buma obtained through his position as an FBI Special Agent.”
He had quite a collection related to “the FBI’s efforts and investigations into a foreign country’s weapons of mass destruction.”
Most of his “prospective” book was fairly harmless. “Focused on his career as an FBI agent, including his work as a whistleblower.” Buma spent 15 years working in a California field office.

He illegally “printed about 130 files from the agency’s internal network.” They were clearly marked “Protected.”
Once he had his stash of source material, he filed off all the serial numbers. “Once he obtained the materials, he put in for leave in October 2023.” Even before that, he was an outspoken critic of the FBI. Buma filed “a whistleblower complaint in January 2022” that alleged “numerous acts of intelligence suppression” of his “reporting tied to foreign intelligence.”
He was convinced that “former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani might have been compromised in a Russian counter-influence operation.” Because it was totally unfounded, his FBI superior “shut him down immediately.“
