How could this happen

How could something like this ever happen here in America

I remember saying this out loud to myself

How, by all that is Holy could something like this happen

When did it get so dark

I never saw it so dark as this, not even the stars can be seen

Nevertheless the mountains, trees,

Were has the moon gone

This was never to happen in America

This was never to have happened in America

How in the hell could this have happened in America

Earthquakes, ash clouds, pray there is no rain

Sun, haven’t seen it in months. Any one remember what month it could be.

So many questions these days. No answers to be found any more.

When the EMP hit we thought it was a lightning that had struck

I mean be honest we never expected an attack on US soil

We are Americans after all. That could never happen here, so we arrogantly thought

So we convinced ourselves

So we dared to think we could defy our founding fathers wishes.

Had we not forgotten what principle our nation had been founded on.

would this have happened

Would this have happened if we just could have admitted we had been wrong

One day of national prayer, one Sabbath day, the real Sabbath day

Totally dedicated to prayer

All nation wide. Not a single man, woman, child ore animal working.

All Americans devoted in prayer to God.

　

Asking for His forgiveness for our nations arrogance, our blustering bravado, that we dare do it alone, by ourselves.

Without the aid of our Father God.

After all as a nation we had been leaving his side

For so many years know.

We had grown so much on our own, without his hand upon our shoulders.

So we so foolishly told ourselves. How foolishly we fooled ourselves.
