THIS WEEK: PARASHAT TETZAVEH: MAKING THE GARMENTS OF THE HIGH PRIEST

This week we continue to read in Torah about the building of the Tabernacle (משכן) and the sacred vessels. We also read in this week's parashat Tetzaveh (Exodus 27:20-30:10) about making the garments of the High Priest (כהן גדול): "You shall make holy garments for your brother Aaron, for honor and glory." (Exodus 28:2)

 

The Temple Institute has recreated the complete set of garments for the Kohen Gadol, as t...hey are commanded in this week's reading. We dedicate this week to presenting pictures and details about the Bigdei Kohen Hagadol - the garments of the High Priest.

 

The picture depicts the Kohen Gadol standing with the King of Israel before the Ark of the Covenant. The King of Israel is seeking Divine guidance via the Urim and Tummim on the High Priest's breastplate.
