Today's Israel Inspiration

Today begins the Hebrew month of Shevat, the month of the wonderful festival of
Tu B'Shevat (which means "the 15th day of Shevat"), the New Year for the Trees. It is a time when all those who love the Land rejoice in its bounty and eat of its blessed fruit. During these days, the soil of the Land has already been saturated with winter rains, so that trees planted after Tu B'Shevat will take firm root and thrive. Take part in the beloved tradition of planting trees in the Holy Land in honor of Tu B'Shevat!

Hebrew Music Monday:
"Land of Milk & Honey"

Just in time for this month's festival
Tu B'Shvat (the New Year for the Trees), listen to a classic Israeli folk song praising the bounty of Israel as a land flowing with milk and honey - “Eretz zavat chalav u’dvash.”

Visiting Israel, Terror Victim Ezra Schwartz' Family Sees "Where his Soul Is" & Plants a Tree

Ezra Schwartz’s body was buried in the US, but the way his family sees it, his soul remains in Israel. During a visit to see all the places in Israel that Ezra loved, the family planted a tree in his memory, for "a tree is a symbol of life, of continuity, and of oxygen to the world."

I appreciate learning of Israel from Israel365 and learning how better to pray for you all! Just knowing there is a tree in the Holy Land that has been planted from me is enough. Thank you for that! Eva M.
