In today's verse the prophet Isaiah describes watchmen along the walls of
Jerusalem. These watchmen presumably provided physical protection for the holy
city and its inhabitants. If we read closely, though, the prophet reveals
another duty, this one spiritual; he entreats the watchmen to never be silent, for those who
revere God should not stand quiet, rather they should profess God's eternal
protection of those that worship Him. ‘Faithkeepers’ is a soon to be released
documentary that details the violent persecution of Christians and other
minorities in the Middle East. By exposing these atrocities we strongly refuse
to sit idly by in the face of Christian genocide. We too, can take part in
professing our reverence of God as did the ancient watchmen, educate America
about this violent persecution and mobilize people to action.
