In the summer of 2014, immediately prior to Israel's ground incursion into
Gaza, Givati Brigade commander Colonel Ofer Winter wrote an inspirational letter
to his subordinates saying, “History has chosen us to spearhead the fighting
(against) the terrorist ‘Gazan’ enemy which abuses, blasphemes and curses the
God of Israel’s (defense) forces." While some criticized Colonel Winter for
invoking God's name while
addressing his soldiers, King David teaches us in his own Psalm that it is
through invoking God's name and calling upon Him in distress that we will bring
about salvation. Continue to pray for and support our brave soldiers in these
cold winter months.
