Edmonton: Muslim rams police car, stabs officer, rams car into pedestrians, ISIS flag found in car
The Islamic State issued this call in September 2014:
So O muwahhid, do not let this battle pass you by wherever you may be. You must strike the soldiers, patrons, and troops of the tawaghit. Strike their police, security, and intelligence members, as well as their treacherous agents. Destroy their beds. Embitter their lives for them and busy them with themselves. If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be….If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him….

Edmonton is on high alert today after a police car was rammed by a rented van, shortly after reports of a pedestrian being hit.Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said the incidents are being investigated “as an act of terror”.The top officer revealed an ISIS flag was discovered in the car used by the attacker.Revealing details of the manhunt, the officer said the first incident involved an attack on an officer at the city’s Commonwealth Stadium.A van was driven into an officer who was then stabbed, before the attacker fled.The driver was later stopped in Jasper Avenue where a chase ensued.He drove along a busy road, speeding towards revellers.Four were hit.“There were people flying and everything,” witness Kim Anderson said.“I’m shocked — I just see people flying.”…Police spokesman Scott Pattison said: “The officer was approached by an unknown male suspect in a vehicle, at which time the suspect rammed the police cruiser.“The suspect got out of his vehicle and an altercation ensued….
