Students Threatened With Arrest Over Anti Lockdown Sign In Window
Students at the University of Manchester have been threatened with arrest as students have begun to protest the impromptu lockdown by hanging signs in their windows. The school has been under lockdown because of fears the COVID-19 virus may spread across the school.
Bizarrely it was not the school that contacted the police, it was the police that contacted the school over the illegal signs in the windows of student housing. The signs were relatively simple and displayed anti lockdown messaging, in the UK there is no such thing as freedom of speech and anti-government messaging is likely to result in legal consequences.
Many students are speaking out against the police over enforcement of the Coronavirus lockdown. Students are not alone however, across the globe many have been arrested for social media posts about the lockdown and people are speaking out about it despite the legal consequences.
