Far-Left Extremists Stage Insurrection At State Capitol, No Arrests

ANALYSIS – The absolute hypocrisy of the left, and the media, is on clear display here, as far-left, anti-Israel radicals staged what can only be called an insurrection in the  State Assembly on Wednesday.

These extremists effectively engaged in “obstructing an official proceeding” and shutting down the first day of the legislative session in the formerly “Golden State.”

However, if the establishment media covered this event at all, like CBS News, it described it as mildly as possible: “Protesters at California State Capitol disrupt Assembly session.”

No outlet made even a passing reference to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Hundreds of demonstrators from allegedly Jewish anti-war groups packed the Capitol rotunda and the assembly gallery and began chanting, singing and unfurling banners, as lawmakers reconvened in Sacramento after a monthslong recess.

While they didn't not attack police, and California Highway Patrol (CHP) troopers assigned to protect the lawmakers didn't try to stop or block the rioters, the chaos created by the insurrectionist also forced visibly upset lawmakers to flee.

Please note that the most common charge against those who entered the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “obstructing an official proceeding.” This minor charge was levied against those who were violent on Jan. 6, and those who weren't.

As reported by the Sacramento Bee:

Protesters sang “cease-fire now” as lawmakers began leaving the chamber, although a few lingered on the floor and in the back of the room. None of the California Highway Patrol sergeants who provide security at the Capitol removed or arrested any of the demonstrators, who continued singing and chanting to a largely empty room. They remained even after the lights in the Assembly chamber were shut off after the adjournment, continuing to sing while turning on their cell phone flashlights.

However, despite the similarity, no one was arrested at this insurrection, and charges like those will likely not be brought against the insurrectionists in Sacramento.

But this isn't the first time these extremists have done things like this. Politico noted: “It's the third time in recent months that cease-fire demonstrators have disrupted a major political event in California, highlighting a widening rift between progressive activists and more mainstream Democrats over the conflict.”

The Sacramento Bee added:

Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher of Yuba City called the protests “totally unacceptable.” “People have the right to , but impeding important government functions like us coming back into session — we have big important issues to face,” Gallagher said. “The $68 billion deficit, cost of living is out of control in this state, an insurance crisis, a public safety crisis. We have work to do.”

Gallagher posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) in response to video of Wednesday's protest.

“Familiar pattern across the country. Chant, intimidate, and shut down. Now stopping CA elected representatives from addressing crisis issues in our state. Their message: ‘Cease Fire Now' and ignore Hamas and their atrocities. This cannot be allowed to continue,” Gallagher wrote.
