SATURDAY, JANUARY 13 HELP CV KEEP DEI OUT OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS  CatholicVote President Brian Burch is calling on Catholic high schools to disclose if they currently harbor Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. “These Marxist programs” are “a perversion of Catholic social teaching,” Burch said. Concerned teachers, administrators, and parents are invited to report any DEI activity in their local Catholic schools to CatholicVote for investigation.  READ TEXAS SEIZES CITY PARK TO STOP MASS BORDER CROSSINGS  The Texas National Guard this week took “custody” of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas, in order to stop migrants crossing the border in droves. The park rests on the state’s border with Mexico. The Biden administration is expected to sue Republican Gov. Greg Abbott over the move.  READ FORMER BORDER OFFICIAL CONFRONTS FALSE RHETORIC  Former acting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan called out political talking points on immigration during an exclusive LOOPcast interview with CatholicVote’s Tom Pogasic. The flow of illegal immigration, drugs, criminals, and national security threats are “all interconnected,” he said. “What is Christian about that?”  READ HERTZ DROPPING COSTLY, UNPOPULAR ELECTRIC VEHICLES  Hertz Global Holdings (“Hertz”) announced plans to sell a third of its electric vehicles (EVs) and refocus its business on traditional gas cars. A 2018 survey showed that 62.7% of the game’s players were under the age of 24.
