There’s no other conclusion to come to other than that after Cheney’s appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation.
Cheney has no business being on TV anymore.
She’s no longer an elected official and her 37-point loss in a 2022 GOP Primary shows her voice carries no weight in the Republican Party.
But Joe Biden wants the 2024 election to be a referendum on January 6 so the media will trot out Liz Cheney to make it seem like there is widespread and bipartisan agreement that Donald Trump is a menace to democracy.
Cheney went even further in this interview, suggesting the entire conservative movement is a threat to the republic saying Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is “unfit” for the Presidency because DeSantis said he would be open to pardoning Trump supporters arrested for nonviolent crimes on January 6. “We have other Republican candidates for President like Ron DeSantis who have said they are open to reviewing the cases against these defendants and considering pardons for them,” Cheney ranted.
“The notion that the Republican Party would continue its efforts to whitewash that day, when the peaceful transition of power is at the core of the survival of our republic,” Cheney added.
Last spring DeSantis told radio hosts Clay Travis and Buck Sexton that he would examine pardons for the January 6 defendants on a “case-by-case basis” if he determines they were treated unfairly as compared to the BLM and Antifa rioters.
“But it will be done on a case-by-case basis, because I think you’ve got to make sure that there’s a whole bunch of cases that don’t necessarily get headlines. But if people are being treated just because they don’t get on TV or something, they’re being treated disfavorably. They need to have a fair hearing as well,” DeSantis stated.
Nowhere in there did Cheney discuss the actual threat to democracy, which is Democrats scheming to allow partisan Judges and elected officials to decide if Joe Biden will face opposition in the 2024 election by banning Trump from the ballot. And Cheney completely ignored the fact that the Department of Justice announced it would amplify the Biden campaign’s January 6 message by spending the coming year arresting Trump supporters who never entered the Capitol and just stood around outside.
That’s the weaponization of the government for political purposes.
But Liz Cheney won’t speak out on that gross abuse of power.
