Thanks again for your prayers this week. As you may know, I’ve been recovering from the flu while also trying to prepare for this weekend’s sold-out XO Conference. I am feeling so much better and even spoke at the conference last night. This community of prayer warriors means so much to me! If you’re reading this early on Saturday, please continue to pray for stronger marriages and changed lives as we conclude the conference. Now, on to this week’s Saturday Seven. 1. Wisdom from ScriptureWhom have I in heaven but You? 26 My flesh and my heart fail; 2. Quote to Consider“Jesus said, ‘Look up, your redemption is near.’ You might think, Aren’t we already redeemed? Yes, Jesus died on the cross to redeem us, but we’ve only received a tiny fraction of the whole package. We only have a small taste of what is to come. But on the day Jesus returns, we will get everything!” [from my book Look Up!] 3. Pay Attention to This NewsYesterday, Benjamin Netanyahu ordered Israel’s military to begin working on a plan to evacuate civilians from the southern Gaza city of Rafah, before an expected Israeli military invasion there. Rafah is on the border of Egypt and has become a refugee camp of sorts for civilians who fled fighting in northern Gaza. But it’s not just innocent civilians there: according to Israeli officials, Rafah is one of the last remaining strongholds of Hamas. “It is impossible to achieve the goal of the war of eliminating Hamas by leaving four Hamas battalions in Rafah,” the office of the Prime Minister stated. “It is clear that intense activity in Rafah requires that civilians evacuate the areas of combat.” 4. Comment of the Week“Just wanted to let you know that I truly enjoy the Israel updates that you have added to your prophecy updates. Brian S. brings a dimension to the programming that helps me understand more about the Holy Land.” —Tipping Point subscriber Donna in the comments after Tuesday’s Israel Update with Brian Schrauger. 5. Definition of the Week: GospelGospel: A word central to the Christian faith which literally means “good news.” It comes from the Old English word “god-spell,” which itself was a translation of the Greek word euangelion. That word is used 76 times in the New Testament and refers to the message of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers. One prominent use is Romans 1:16, in which Paul writes, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek” (NKJV). The first four books of the New Testament are also called Gospels—as in the “Gospel of Luke” because these books provide accounts of the life and teachings of Jesus and narrate the “good news” of His ministry. 6. Link of the WeekKim Jong Un, the unpredictable leader of North Korea, said this week that he has the legal right to annihilate South Korea and that his country’s southern neighbor “can be attacked and destroyed at any time.” Earlier in the week, the parliament of North Korea abolished laws that allowed for economic cooperation with South Korea. Most experts suspect these provocative statements and decisions are related to upcoming elections in South Korea. The U.S. is taking these statements seriously, however, and President Biden recently said any nuclear launch by North Korea would mean the end of Kim’s regime. 7. Headline of the WeekState of emergency declared in Iceland after volcanic eruption.
