carl --
Record-breaking
basketball star Stephen Curry just called his shot to beat malaria -- and he's
challenging you to call yours, too!
People know
Stephen as the best shooter in basketball for a reason. As point guard for the
Golden State Warriors, he's famous for hitting the toughest shots. And now, he's
making one that really counts: a shot to defeat malaria, a disease that kills a
child every two minutes.
Today,
on World Malaria Day, join Stephen and athletes, celebrities, activists, and
people all over the world and #CallYourShot to take action to end this deadly
disease.
Malaria
is caused by a single mosquito bite, but a simple bed net can help save a
life. When you #CallYourShot, you're helping the United Nations
Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign and its partners make sure that
bed nets and other lifesaving anti-malaria activities get to the people who need
them most.
Over the last
10 years, people around the world have rallied together with the UN to make
tremendous progress in the fight against malaria, saving 6.2 million lives. But
there's still work to be done. We're in the fourth quarter of this fight.
If we work together, we can be the generation to end malaria for
good.
Let's join
Stephen and make this shot a true buzzer-beater --
