We Must Not Be Silent

Dear Carl,

Today the Jewish people are facing a new array of threats, much broader than they have faced in the past. One of those threats is an effort to silence the voices of their friends and supporters. That's why Zionism is being called racist, and that's why Facebook is shutting down pro-Israel voices like ours. We can't let this go—it is time for action, and I'm asking for your help today.

We are using every means at our disposal to win this battle. I have been to both Jerusalem and Washington, asking for help from those who are friends of Israel. We have written appeals, and we are pursuing the legal avenues that are available to us. Make no mistake, this is a fight that we must win—not just for the sake of this great global prayer movement, but for the future of Israel.

At the same time we are fighting this battle, we are using your Friends of Zion Center as a headquarters to provide help and hope to those who have been injured, lost their homes, or are suffering because of the brutal terrorist attacks. We need your help to ensure that our pro-Israel voice is not silenced, and that the urgent needs of the Jewish people can be met.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Growing in Wisdom

Fools are headstrong and do what they like; wise people take advice.
—Proverbs 12:15 MSG

None of us enters this world with the wisdom of Solomon. We need to grow in wisdom and understanding, and this comes from being mentored by wise parents, counselors, pastors, teachers, and friends. However, in order for this process to work effectively, we need to be humble enough to acknowledge our need for God’s wisdom.

We also need to be careful of where we look for our source of wisdom. Not every self-help author, talk show host, or media pundit truly has the wisdom of God. They may be spouting worldly wisdom or political correctness rather than the truth based on God’s Word.

The apostle Paul warned: “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ” (Colossians 2:8 NLT). Be careful where you get your wisdom!
