Father, May the Holy Spirit help us, lead us, empower us, enable us, prompt us, comfort us, counsel us and enrich our lives each moment of the day in Christ! 
AMEN!

   
Dear Lord Jesus, 
I know I am a sinner. I pray that you will forgive me for all of my sins, that you will come into my heart and be my Lord, the savior of my life. I confess that you died on the cross to save me from my sins and I am committed to turning away from those sins. I ask that you fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can be born again. I ask that you give me the strength and abundant faith to overcome any and all attacks by the enemy, including my desire to sin so that I may serve you completely. I pray that you will give me discernment so that I may know all things that are truth, and the knowledge acquired from reading your Word. Use me this day as I am a willing vessel Lord, in leading others to your kingdom. Wash me as white as snow. Put a hedge of protection around me as I go forth in doing your will. Thank you Jesus for saving me, as I know that only through my faith in you that all this is possible.

Everyone Knows Sanctions Won’t Work On Russia

Unless you have been in a medically induced coma for the last week, you know that Russia invaded Ukraine. It came as a surprise to some, most notably the White House. It took a whole day for the President to address the nation. Biden laid out a plan to impose sanctions on Russia to punish it for violating Ukraine’s sovereignty in his remarks. It is a strategy that even his own aids doubt will work.

One of the reasons for this is that none of the sanctions currently target Russia’s energy sector. Oil and natural gas exports drive Russia’s economy, and ironically Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has caused the price of oil to skyrocket. Incredibly, the United States is purchasing Russian oil as of this writing.

It is hard to take the United States seriously when sending money to the country that just invaded Ukraine and watches as they use the money earned to sustain the campaign. All that has happened to this point is that we have shut down some of their banks. Even if the United States were to ban Russian imports, Europe would not follow suit because forty percent of its natural gas comes from Putin. Sanctions alone will do little to solve the problem.

Worse still, Putin has made veiled threats that some have interpreted to mean that if the United States intervenes, Russia could respond with a nuclear attack. After his speech, President Biden did not instill confidence in his response when asked about this.


Unfortunately for Ukraine, the Biden Administration is out of its league. The Russian President knows that sanctions are not enough to stop him, and so does the rest of the world. It is no surprise that Putin waited for Trump to leave the office to make his move. What is a surprise is how woefully unprepared Biden and his team are for something they have been predicting for months. The only question now is, can the world handle another three years of President Biden failing miserably?

Ukraine Warns Of ‘Ecological Disaster’ As Russian Troops Attack Chernobyl

The world’s most excellent nuclear disaster site is now in the hands of Russian forces, and Ukrainian officials are fearful of another “ecological disaster. A monitoring station reports a 20-fold spike in radiation levels at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. A major accident in 1986 released radiation that contaminated some 150,000 square kilometers, and a 30-kilometer area around the site is still essentially uninhabited.

Analysts say another nuclear disaster at Chernobyl is improbable. The surge in radiation levels may be from troops and heavy military equipment stirring radioactive dust that is still prevalent in the region. The doomed reactor number four at Chernobyl is now covered by a massive protective dome, but this shield was not designed to be safe in a war zone.

Its purpose is to keep the decaying radioactive materials inside, not keep military forces outside.

According to scientists, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the Russian assault on the facility, which still smolders like the embers in a barbecue pit, a “declaration of war against the whole of Europe.” Ukrainian officials say it is wrong to think that the site is safe even now. The soil in the area remains contaminated, though studies show animal populations are coming back.

Experts also recognize that Russia does not want nuclear material lying around if planning a protracted occupation.

The International Atomic Energy Agency says it monitors the Russian invasion and calls for “maximum restraint” to operate Ukraine’s nuclear facilities securely. It’s the active nuclear reactors that have monitoring agencies more concerned.

Which begs the obvious question. Why would Putin’s forces attack a radioactive wasteland in the first place? Do they get the History Channel in Russia?

Analysts say their motivation is that the tragic site is strategically located between Belarus and Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. On its own, it’s a worthless piece of land, but like all real estate, it’s all about location. Chernobyl is less than 10 miles from the border with Belarus, a Russian ally and staging area for its troops over the past several weeks preparing for Thursday’s invasion. Once that area was taken, it’s now a relatively open 80 miles south of Kyiv.

And Gostomel Airport, about 15 miles east of the city, is already in Russian hands after a fierce attack.

It is a strong signal that sanctions by Biden and the West have zero effect on the Kremlin’s plans, and they want to surround the capital. Stay tuned.

We just learned that the military conflict in Ukraine led to the first Israeli casualty. A 40-year-old man from Israel was killed by a bullet fired towards a line of cars in a town near Kyiv. We don't yet know of other casualties, but some reliable sources report that another Israeli citizen was taken hostage.

As the situation in Ukraine is escalating further, it is apparent that the international community will have to get involved and will be heavily impacted. The focus on the unjust invasion in Ukraine and the newly-set precedent are extremely dangerous for Israel, which is already in a constant terrorist threat.

We at Zaka Tel-Aviv condemn the destructive invasion by Russia in Ukraine, and meanwhile, we gear up for what may be a new wave of terror in Israel.
