Men dressing up as women prostitutes is nothing new... It has just been underground for 2000 years… But, during the last 50 years, they have reemerged as drag queens, threatening the fabric of America and even the entire Western world as we know it. Starting with the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City, drag queens and other perverse practices have infiltrated every element of our society, including movies, television, social media, schools, music, cartoons, theater, and politics. But the truth is that drag queens are nothing new... Their history goes back at least five centuries to the temples of goddess worship. The ancient region of Mesopotamia between the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers was home to several civilizations. The Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians, among others in the known world, worshipped false gods and goddesses from around 3200 BC up until sometime after the time of Christ. Several female deities, including Diana, Aphrodite, Venus, Semiramis, and Ishtar, reigned in the ancient world. Of these, the most prominent and destructive was Ishtar, the goddess of love, sex, fertility, and war. Worship of the Ishtar included temple singers, priestesses, and performers who were not women but men who had taken on the appearance and behaviors of women. Many of these men underwent voluntary castration to more closely align with the gender-fluid Ishtar. Homosexual, straight, and lesbian sex were also part of what was referred to as sacred or religious temple prostitution. Some cultures went so far as to require all citizens, including children, to participate in these religious activities at least once per year. Soon after Christ’s death and resurrection, the gospel began to spread throughout the world. As people converted to Christianity, the practices of homosexuality, lesbianism, and overt cross-dressing began to mostly disappear from everyday life. It’s not that they ever totally stopped; it’s that they hid in the dark corners of society. During the 20th Century here in America, drag queens were typically found only in adult cabarets and nightclubs. That was until 2009, the year when RuPaul premiered his Drag Race reality TV series. Since then, the show has become wildly popular. Now, 14 years later, the show has a massive viewership that spans beyond the LGBTQ+ community and has spun off versions in Thailand, the Philippines, Canada, Italy, the UK, and others. The show has won a number of Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. In 2017, RuPaul was included in the annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. (We now give awards and recognition to people who promote perversion?) But it has not stopped there... As I have written in this space before, it’s no secret that drag queen story hours have been held in public libraries and schools across America for some time now. At the same time, this epidemic of homosexual transvestite drag queens has also infiltrated American “churches” and gained access to children’s ministries. They are the things of the goddess Ishtar, who is fast replacing God in America. But this past week, one Florida Church has gone way beyond that... As reported earlier this week by the Dissenter, “A Florida ‘church’ just threw a “drag service” as a big middle finger to Governor Ron DeSantis’ commonsense Anti-Drag for Kids law. Allendale United Methodist “Church” in St. Petersburg did this in the name of “inclusivity,” but let’s be real: they were anything but inclusive… at least not of actual biblical values. Oh, and there were kids there… actual children watching grown men parading around in women’s clothes, singing and preaching. All this despite DeSantis signing a law back in May that prohibits children from being exposed to this kind of thing.” What motivates so-called church leaders to go so far as to break the law? It is because they have decided to blaspheme God, side with Satan, and make Ishtar the object of their worship. They are not alone. There will be more.
