Disney ditched one beloved character over wokeness that left fans shaking their heads

Disney is undergoing dramatic changes to bow at the altar of political correctness.
Now the characters and stories that build the company are being erased.
And Disney ditched one beloved character over wokeness that left fans shaking their heads.
Beloved jug band bear was replaced because he is offensive to alcoholics
Disney became an entertainment powerhouse because the characters and stories that it built delighted audiences for generations.
But now the company is removing one of its popular characters at the Magic Kingdom theme park in Central Florida because of the woke outrage mob.
The Country Bear Jamboree has been a fixture at Walt Disney World’s Frontierland since 1971.
The show features 18 animatronic bears that sing country and western songs like “My Woman Ain’t Pretty (But She Don’t Swear None)” and play instruments for audiences.
The southern-themed musical attraction is losing one of its original robotic bears over allegations of racism and insensitivity toward alcoholics.
Liver Lips McGrowl is being retired because of Disney’s commitment to replacing allegedly outdated and offensive stereotypes at its theme parks.
“The term ‘liver lips’ has been used to describe an individual’s swollen and red lips due to heavy alcohol consumption. ‘Liver lips’ is also considered a ‘derogatory’ and ‘offensive’ racial slur that has been used against African Americans to describe the color or shape of their lips as sickly or unhealthy,” TheStreet reported.
The beloved Liver Lips McGrowl is being replaced with a new animatronic bear that is more acceptable to modern sensibilities, Romeo McGrowl.
Romeo McGrowl is dressed like a rockabilly character and sports giant blond hair.
The new bear will join Harry, Big Al, Wendell and Teddi Barra, Ernest the Dude, Terrence Shaker, Trixie, and the Five Bear Rugs.
Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs to erase its Southern heritage
The Country Bear Jamboree has been overhauled after being shut down earlier this year.
Bears got new costumes, new speaking parts, and the country and western songs were replaced with country versions of classic Disney songs.
Country artist Mac McAnally told Variety he would be singing some of the jamboree’s new music.
“I first saw the Country Bears as a teenage musician and it bolstered my pride in the acoustic musical heritage of the rural South,” McAnally said. “It is my great blessing to get to be a part of the continuation of the tradition and I have done my best to honor the spirit of the Bears and the great Disney songbook as well as the heart and soul that runs through the veins of country music.”
New songs will come from Disney movies like “Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book, “Fixer-Upper” from Frozen, and “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.
Disney has been on a woke rampage to make sure its theme parks are not offensive.
The Asian children on the “It’s a Small World” ride were replaced after they were accused of being culturally insensitive.
Tinker Bell from Peter Pan was removed from meet-and-greets at Disney theme parks because the character allegedly promoted negative body image issues.
