Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has once again interfered with American politics by calling for immigrants to vote against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis if he decides to run for president in 2024. The Mexican president has accused Governor DeSantis, who has been a vocal critic of President Biden’s open border policies, of advocating for “anti-immigrant” policies and persecuting migrants.
Lopez Obrador urged Hispanics in Florida to “wake up” and not give DeSantis a single vote, claiming that the governor’s politicking over migrants was solely to secure the Republican Party’s nomination. He also took aim at Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has been similarly vocal about the Biden Administration’s lax border policies and has taken measures to combat illegal immigration.
It’s disappointing to see foreign leaders interfere in American politics and attempt to influence the votes of American citizens. Governor DeSantis has made it clear that he is committed to protecting his state and the country from the dangers of illegal immigration, and any effort to infringe on the rights of American voters to choose their leaders is not only improper but downright unpatriotic. It’s clear that Mexico’s leadership has no respect for our sovereignty, and we must remain vigilant against any foreign meddling in our politics.

Democrats are looking to Oprah Winfrey to bail them out for this shocking reason
Oprah Winfrey is one of the biggest celebrities in the history of television.
But she could be on the verge of making a major career change.
And Democrats are looking to Oprah Winfrey to bail them out for this shocking reason.Rumors are swirling about the future of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).
The 89-year-old spent nearly three months away from the Senate while she recovered from a bout of the shingles.
Feinstein announced her retirement after this session of Congress but Democrats have been trying to push her out.
A growing chorus of Democrats including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are calling for her to resign from the Senate.Her absence from the Senate Judiciary Committee grounded to a halt the confirmation of President Joe Biden’s radical judicial nominees.
Feinstein has been adamant that she intends to serve out her term but her ongoing medical situation and age is raising more doubts about her ability to stick around.
She appears frail while she’s being pushed around the Senate in a wheelchair and a confused Feinstein told a reporter that she wasn’t absent from the Senate at all.
A recent poll from California found that more than 60% of the state’s voters want her to resign.
California Governor Gavin Newsom put himself in a bind when he promised to appoint a black woman to fill Feinstein’s seat in 2021 if it became open.Now speculation is growing about who could replace Feinstein if she steps down from the Senate.
Billionaire tv personality Oprah Winfrey is reportedly one of the names that could be on the list of potential replacements.
The Associated Press reported that Winfrey is one of the names to “have been floated in California circles as possible replacements.”
Oprah Winfrey has been a dream candidate for Democrats for years given her enormous popularity from her time on television.
She’s waded into politics before by endorsing Barack Obama early in his first Presidential campaign. Since then, she’s campaigned for and endorsed numerous Democratic candidates.
Winfrey said before the 2020 election that billionaires tried to recruit her to run against former President Donald Trump.
Newsom could be looking for a placeholder to serve the rest of Feinstein’s term until voters pick a replacement next fall and that’s where Winfrey could come in.
If he picked a sitting politician to fill Feinstein’s seat, he risks alienating one of the competing factions in the California Democratic Party.
Newsom, who has Presidential ambitions, could avoid that risk by picking a wildly popular placeholder.
Currently, the race to replace Feinstein is looking like a knock-down, drag-out brawl between Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Katie Porter (D-CA), and Barbara Lee (D-CA).
Oprah Winfrey could finally fulfill the dreams of Democrats by heading to Washington, D.C. as a politician.
