Shabbat Inspiration

This Shabbat, the Shabbat preceeding the 9th of Av, is called 'Shabbat Khazon'. 'Khazon' means vision, and refers to the prophesy of Isaiah which we read during the Shabbat services.  Isaiah describes God's lament over how the Nation has forsaken Him and sinned repeatedly, which ultimately leads to the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem on the 9th of Av.  Throughout the world, Jews commemorate Tisha B'av with fasting and prayer and the public recital of Eicha (Lamentations).  Follow along and learn the mornful words of Jeremiah with our Eicha eBook, FREE now with coupon code eicha2015.

Jerusalem Daily Photo

A fantastic view of the Jerusalem heavens by Safi Allman. The prophet Isaiah invokes the heavens as a testament to God's infinite kindness and love for His Nation.
