When Hannah and her husband Elkanah made their pilgrimages to Shiloh where the Tabernacle once stood,
they took different routes each time so as to encourage others to join them in
serving God. In this way, the righteous pair guided and encouraged the Children
of Israel. "Meir Panim" (Hebrew for "lighting up faces") is also taking a
different route this summer, going beyond its traditional food programs to help
needy children. With highly subsidized day camps, Meir Panim gets children off
the street and into safe and nurturing camp programs for the long summer
days.
