The biblical blue color of "techelet" is mentioned numerous times in the
Bible. The color is meant to remind us of the sky, and God's ever-presence in
our lives. Yet for close to 1500 years, the source of this special blue dye has
been lost to the world. In an exciting discovery, marine biologists together
with Talmudic researchers identified the source of "techelet" as a small snail
found off the coast of Israel near Haifa. From the smallest sea creature we see
the Bible come to life, only in Israel!
