Palestinian Authority: Jerusalem Wine Festival an Affront to Islam

Lucky for the PA then that Jerusalem is the Jewish Capital.

Palestinians, ever the pillars of progressivism, are decrying Jerusalem's upcoming Wine Festival claiming it will be an "affront to Islam." The Israeli outlet Arutz Sheva provides some background:
Murad Al-Sudani, the Registrar for the National Palestinian Committee for Education, Culture and Science, lashed out at the upcoming annual Jerusalem Wine Festival, which is set to have a branch at the upscale Mamilla (Alrov) open-air mall near the Old City.
Since the mall rests partly on an old Muslim cemetery called "Maman Allah;" Al-Sudani claims that the festival manifests an affront to Islam.
Aside from the pesky fact that Jerusalem is the eternal Jewish Capital, there are a few contradictions al-Sudani leaves out of his complaint. For one, Mamilla Mall is an upscale, modern shopping center that is frequented by Israelis and tourists -- the mall is not frequented by Palestinians -- full stop. For those who have visited this high-end shopping center, that fact is quite apparent.
What's more, Mamilla Mall boasts numerous cafes and restaurants, all of which serve alcohol and have done so since the shopping center's opening in 2008. Where then have been the daily complaints from Palestinians over this repeated, so-called Islamic-sacrilege?
Al-Sudani also maintains that the wine festival is "a dangerous escalating step" by Israel in what he says is the Jewish State's attempt to "bury" the Arab Muslim "history" of Jerusalem.
Clearly al-Sudani is projecting here, because the only ones burying the history of Jerusalem are Muslims who have worked tirelessly through excavations and deceit to purge all Jewish artifacts and historical documentation of ancient Jewish presence from the Jewish Capital.
Oh and while al-Sudani bemoans the upcoming wine festival as a violation of Islamic law and that it will "provoke" Palestinians and Muslims worldwide -- he failed to mention how he and his cohorts coped over the last ten consecutive years that the wine festival has been hosted.
The Jerusalem Wine Festival is slated to commence September 5th in the Gan Haomanut, or "Art Garden" of the Israel Museum. There will be wine tastings, food, and music and good mirth -- all things frowned upon by those who embrace primitivism over modernity.
