Hip-hop artist Trey Songz flew into a tantrum Wednesday night at a concert in Detroit after his mic was turned off for going over his performance time at the multi-bill concert.
The singer promised that if his mic got turned off he would “go the f*** crazy,” and that he did; tearing apart the stage and throwing anything he could get his hands on into the audience. According to USA Today, when police approached the stage to calm him down, Songz punched a police sergeant, sending the officer to the hospital with a concussion. Other sources said a thrown object (microphone or speaker) hit the officer, who has since been treated and released.
Now, the 32-year-old Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, faces aggravated assault charges and destruction of property.
Part of the incident can be seen in the video above. The second part is footage from earlier in the month when Neverson and his “crew” were allegedly kicked out of the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino near Washington, D.C. They can be heard saying such supportive things to our boys in blue as “f*** the police,” etc.
Neverson’s bond was set at $25,000 and could face further fines and jail time of up to four years for assaulting an officer.
