Canada: Muslim MP falsely claims Conservatives forced him to miss Muslim holy day for crucial Parliamentary vote
For weeks, the Liberals refused to disclose the cost of their carbon tax plans, so the opposition Conservatives decided to launch a filibuster in the House of Commons, vowing to keep Liberal MP’s voting for up to 30 straight hours.
As it turns out, “the marathon voting session…wrapped up after roughly 12 hours,” and still without needed answers.
The issue is critical:
Main estimates are the breakdown of how the government plans to spend the money outlined in its annual budget. As a bill relating to money matters, any vote on it is considered a matter of confidence. A loss could trigger an election.
Despite how critical the matter is, Member of Parliament Omar Alghabra decided that his Muslim privilege mattered most in the midst of this important session of which his own government was in neglect over. He decided to tweet out his grumblings in advance:

The filibuster had nothing to do with partisanship. Alghabra’s accusations, however, had everything to do with identity politics and his own personal agenda. He was President of the Canadian Arab Federation, and stated that he did not believe that Hamas (a Muslim Brotherhood proxy group) or Islamic Jihad were terrorist groups.” Also, when Ontario declined to permit the use of sharia law, Alghabra said he was disappointed. Alghabra also opposed an anti-terrorist act that was proposed by Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin before a Parliament Subcommittee on public safety.
More recently, Alghabra represented Canada at a meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during which the OIC offered Canada a “distinct opportunity to raise and advance our core values, including human rights, freedom, democratic governance and the rule of law.” Since when is Canada is an Islamic nation to be represented at the OIC, and worse, to be taught “values” by it? One can see clearly what Alghabra’s priorities, as well as those of the Canadian government.
Another Liberal MP, Mark Holland, decided to facilitate the placement of identity politics above the well-being of Canada:

Omar Alghabra was exposed for his divisiveness and deception by Conservative MP Erin O’Toole, who tweeted:
This is both incorrect & disappointing @OmarAlghabra - the first vote tonight at 10:30PM is due to the Liberal led schedule & Liberal mandates late night sitting. I think you should apologize for misleading people.
This isn’t the first time that the Conservatives were forced to pull a filibuster on a crucial matter. It happened in March over a cover up that made news worldwide in connection with Trudeau’s humiliating visit to India, when he invited a known Khalistani terrorist to a reception dinner. Trudeau has been neglecting the Canadian economy, including NAFTA, as his government aggressively rams through intricate plans to crack down on “Islamophobia” and strengthen relations with the OIC.
