Christians across America are under attack by state and local governments that are attempting to use the pandemic to prevent Christians from congregating in churches for worship services.
In California, the state has banned Christian worship having more than 100 people or 25 percent of the church's building capacity and also ordered churches to discontinue singing during worship. In Nevada, church worship is limited to only 50 people. (Casinos there are generally allowed to operate at 50% capacity.)
At the same time, Democrat lead cities openly and freely allow large “protests” (read riots) to continue without restraint, (or masks) and in most cases even support them.
Now is the time to take a stand against government leaders who insist that Christians must end their corporate worship of God. We are to serve Christ first, not Caesar and remember that we are to fear God, not man (Matthew 10:27-31). In Romans 13:1-4, Paul wrote “God instituted government for the purpose of restraining and punishing evil”. It seems that in many Democrat ruled areas, they are doing the exact opposite.
Church leaders must be the only ones to decide when and if their congregation meets. It is not the purview of the state.
One man has taken a strong stand… John MacArthur, senior pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, says that the state has vastly overstepped its legitimate, God-given authority. As a result, his church defied Governor Gavin Newsom's anti-church mandate and held services on July 26.
"We cannot and will not acquiesce to a government-imposed moratorium on our weekly congregational worship or other regular corporate gatherings. Compliance would be disobedience to our Lord's clear commands." To read more about MacArthur’s statement click here.
Remember this when you vote (staying home is NOT an option) in November… a vote for ANY Democrat is a vote for religious persecution.
As for me, I will serve Christ first, then the government… how about you?
