One great explanation on the Petrine Office and how it works, or does not currently. Keep up the great work CM!
You folks are so smart I would bet you could figure a way so that the Traditional Catholic mass could become its own rite like the Byzantine, Ethiopian, and the 18 others so we could worship in peace. I know you can!!!
Lots of evil Popes. He is not infallible unless he adheres to Jesus's teachings.
Lots of anti Popes too!!!
Canon 332 §2, clearly states that a papal renunciation occurs when a
Roman Pontiff renounces his munus, not his ministerium, and hence
Benedict XVI, since he never did that, remains the Pope.
Respectfully, the invalid conclave needs to be exposed and the identity of the Roman Pontiff made clear. HH Pope Benedict XVI never resigned the munus. The papacy cannot be bifurcated.
For pete sake. Enough!!! Read the Rules of the Papal Conclave. Unfortunately, none of them were violated.
Knock it off! Benedict resigned, unfortunately.
He did not resign the munus according to Canon law in order for it to be a VALID resignation.
Agree. If Benedict didn’t resign, he sure is acting like he did.
He gives the Apostolic blessing, lives in the Vatican, dresses as Pope, goes by his Papal name, signs documents with Papal name.
There is NO such thing as a Pope emeritus!
I could be wrong but I seem to remember that “Emeritus” was his chosen title.
One of Father Jeff Robideau's homilies on the 4th Retreat at Sea clarified what a priest's duty to obedience entails: obedience to the magisterium's teachings. A brilliant summation of our current dilemma. This speaks to both the pope's airplane press conferences and to the problem of wack-a-doodle bishops who try to destroy good and holy priests under their 'care'.
I listen to Michael Lofton a lot. He is very good and I was happy to see him on Mic'd Up!
