The Secret Service released a statement on the assassination attempt that left Ron DeSantis shaking his head in disbelief

Details continue to emerge about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump last Saturday at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle took responsibility for the massive security failure that allowed the shooting to occur in the first place.
And the Secret Service released a statement on the assassination attempt that left Ron DeSantis shaking his head in disbelief.
Americans are still in shock over Donald Trump coming within inches of losing his life on Saturday when a bullet grazed his right ear during his speech in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old, fired up to eight rounds before he was taken out by snipers on a nearby rooftop.
Crooks fired the shots from a rooftop located 150 yards from the stage with a direct line of sight to Donald Trump’s head.
As more details about the shooting emerge, Americans are realizing that this was the worst security failure by the Secret Service in the last four decades.
But some information has been outright shocking.
According to Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle, police officers were inside the building the shooter used for his assassination attempt.
“There was local police in that building – there was local police in the area that were responsible for the outer perimeter of the building,” Cheatle said.
Not only that, but several attendees at the rally noticed Crooks on the roof two minutes before the shots were fired and tried to alert the authorities.
One report even claims law enforcement spotted Crooks 30 minutes before he tried to kill Donald Trump.
“Another shocking report from local news station WPXI Channel 11 News said law enforcement spotted Crooks on the roof nearly 30 minutes before he fired at Trump,” Breitbart reported.
And Cheatle even claimed that “a local police officer came in contact with the would-be assassin just before shots were fired at Trump.”
There were clearly numerous security failures that allowed the shooting to take place.
But apparently no one will be held accountable.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pointed out that this has been a problem of the Biden administration from day one.
“The central feature of our nation’s entrenched bureaucratic class is never being held accountable for failures,” he commented in a post on X.
The post noted that “U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle says she won’t resign over Trump assassination attempt.”
“The greatest security failure for the agency this century and nobody will be fired or resign?” DeSantis asked.
Of course, this is not all that surprising.
After all, Joe Biden refused to hold anyone accountable for his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that left 13 American soldiers dead.
