Go and call out in the ears of Jerusalem saying: Thus said God: I recall for you the kindness of your youth, the love of your nuptuals, your following Me into the wilderness, into an unsown land. JEREMIAH (2:2)

Jerusalem Inspiration

Today is the ninth of the Hebrew month of Av, the day on which we mourn the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Jeremiah is known as the prophet of destruction as his duty was to warn the people to change their ways and return to God, lest the Temple be destroyed. Today's verse contains Jeremiah's first vision that he shares with the Jewish Nation.  Interestingly, his first vision is not of rebuke, rather, Jeremiah's first prophetic vision is of God's longing for His people, and His memories of how they were to Him as a bride and followed Him blindly into the desert.  This serves as a reminder that whatever punishment may be meted out, God loves His people and desires a relationship with them.  With the destruction of the Holy Temple, the meeting place of God and his beloved was destroyed.  The Temple Mount Heritage Foundation strives to educate and facilitate the rebuilding of the glorious Temple so that the bride-groom relationship can be reinstated in its proper home.

The End of Days is Near

Roy S. Neuberger’s latest book, Working Toward Moshiach (Messiah), is a spiritual security blanket. It contains 500 pages of deceptively simple stories and vivid reminders that the only way to survive the irrational times in which we live is to cling to God.

The Ten Martyrs

This book is a Midrash (story) about Jewish heroism. It is the story of the Ten Martyrs of Israel who were brutally murdered by the Roman Empire in the period surrounding the destruction of the Second Temple and Jerusalem. A center piece of inspiration on Yom Kippur and Tisha B’Av, this Midrash is the story of what it means not only to die as a Jew but to live like one. In this fresh and modern translation the reader will discover a new definition of commitment to God and His people.
