High-ranking
officers of the Israeli army have recommended easing restrictions on the
Palestinians in Gaza. The recommendations include permitting thousands of
residents of the area to travel abroad.
My guess is that
the recent recognition of Beit She'arim as a World Heritage Site by the United
Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will not
change the minds of those who believe that the "Jewish people" is a modern
invention.
