(CJ) – On Wednesday Fox News reported that sources “with intimate knowledge” of the FBI’s investigation into the Clinton Foundation, say the more than year-long investigation has now taken a “very high priority” within the bureau.
FBI agents have now reportedly interviewed multiple individuals, sometimes even re-interviewing individuals, regarding the Clinton Foundation investigation into a possible pay-for-play criminal political corruption scandal between then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.
Fox News reported the FBI’s White Collar Crime Division is currently conducting the investigation, with one source telling Fox News, “there is an avalanche of new information coming in every day.”
Sources told Fox News that some of the new information is coming from the newly released WikiLeaks email dumps and new emails.
Fox News reports FBI agents are “actively and aggressively pursuing this case” and will continue to conduct new interviews on the same individuals again, some for a third time.
On Thursday CBS News reported FBI agents had found emails related to Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state on the laptop belonging to the estranged husband of Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner.
CBS News’ Andres Triay reports the new emails found on the laptop are not duplicates of emails found on Secretary Clinton’s private server, and at this point it remains to be seen whether these emails are significant to the FBI’s investigation into Clinton or the Clinton Foundation.
