The Left claims to oppose racism. Its favorite way of combating it? Racism. That’s the apparent philosophy behind a BBC job listing which specifies that it will not consider white candidates.
The job advertisement -- describing the position as “an exceptional and unique opportunity to train as a broadcast journalist” -- states clearly that the post is “only open to candidates from a black, Asian or non-white ethnic minority background.” So, whites need not apply.
The company behind the ad — Creative Access — has a history of such racist placements for paid internships at prestigious media companies. Furthermore, it is forcibly funded by the very people it discriminates against. CA is registered as a charity; however, it receives financial support from Britain’s taxpayers -- most of whom are, of course, white. The organization’s website states:
“We help young people, from under-represented communities throughout the UK, to access creative careers. Working with UK’s most successful creative firms, we provide a range of services to help bring in diverse talent to organisations; we facilitate paid 3 to 12 month-long internships; provide employer training and host an opportunities board for organisations to list their roles.”
Despite Creative Access’s claim to help the “under-represented, 2017’s BBC Equality Information Report indicated that “black and minority ethnic (BME) people make up 14.5 per cent of the corporation’s workforce, while comprising less than 13 per cent of Britain’s population at the 2011 census.”
In other words, minorities are already over-represented at the broadcasting company. But don't try to tell that to the BBC; they don't want to listen to your racist facts.
