UK: Four injured as taxi mounts pavement and hits pedestrians at tourist hotspot, cops say not terror-related
It is not a terror-related incident, say police. Thus it may not be. Unfortunately, however, police the world over have an unfortunate pattern of denying that jihad terror attacks are terror attacks. Is that the case in this instance? Maybe. Maybe not. The larger problem is that the public is being misled on a consistent basis.
Last June, the Islamic State published a poster depicting an SUV driving over a heap of skulls and bearing the legend “Run Over Them Without Mercy.”
And the Islamic State issued this call in September 2014:
So O muwahhid, do not let this battle pass you by wherever you may be. You must strike the soldiers, patrons, and troops of the tawaghit. Strike their police, security, and intelligence members, as well as their treacherous agents. Destroy their beds. Embitter their lives for them and busy them with themselves. If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be….If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him….
Does that mean this is an Islamic State jihad attack? Not at all. It only means that it could be, and we need officials to be honest.
I wrote exactly those same words yesterday about the New York City jihad massacre. That one turned out to be a jihad attack, despite initial police denials. Will this one turn out to be a jihad attack as well? Maybe. But with British officials even more clueless, corrupt and compromised than their American counterparts, we may never know the truth.

Four people have been injured after a black cab mounted the pavement and hit pedestrians at a busy tourist hotspot in central London.Scotland Yard said a taxi had crashed into people in Southampton Street near Covent Garden at about 5pm.Initial reports from witnesses suggested people were trapped beneath the taxi after the crash.The incident is not believed to be terror-related but the driver has been detained.Scores of emergency services rushed to the scene and police cleared panicked bystanders from the area.Westminster MPS confirmed it was dealing with a “serious injury accident involving a taxi” and said that casualties were being treated by London Ambulance Service.LAS said one person was rushed to hospital with a major leg injury and two others were taken to hospital for minor injuries.A fourth was treated at the scene.A Met Police spokesman added: “It is not being treated as anything other than a collision.“Police were called at 5.01pm on Wednesday to reports of a taxi in collision with pedestrians in Southampton Street, WC2.“Officers and the other emergency services attended the scene.“We are aware of injuries but await further confirmation. The driver of the taxi stopped at the scene and has been detained by police.“This is being treated as a serious road traffic collision, and not thought to be terrorist related.”…Witness Ed Hoppitt posted: “Just came within meters of being hit by a vehicle that mounted the pavement and ploughed into people. #CoventGarden people down under taxi.”
