Now with Biden’s handlers nervously keeping an eye on Donald Trump, the Supreme Court is being requested to consider a case that could throw off hundreds of charges against those present for the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.The challenge is based on a charge that Jacob Lang was obstructing an official proceeding.
Lang’s attorneys argued that the charge against Lang could be used against “anyone who attends a public demonstration gone awry.” They went on to argue that the charge amounts to, “Nothing less than the weaponization of the penal code to stifle dissent; it sets a terrifying precedent unworthy of this nation’s history.”
If the charge, which carries a 20-year sentence, were to be overturned in Lang’s case his attorney Norman Pattis told Newsweek it could affect the cases of “hundreds of defendants.”

“The government misuse and abuse of the federal penal code in the [January 6] cases is shocking,” the attorney added.
If the Supreme Court overturns Lang’s obstruction charge, it will amount to the ultimate insult for Democrats who have suffered one embarrassment after the next as they attempt to find Donald Trump’s kryptonite. Nancy Pelosi’s Special Committee on the January 6 riots received endless press and fanfare, but ultimately fizzled out without the damning impact Democrats expected.
