The YMCA banned a 16-year-old girl and you won’t believe why
The radical Left is determined to force Americans to accept their woke gender ideology.
This includes allowing a biological male who claims to be a woman to use the girls’ locker room.
But the YMCA banned a 16-year-old girl and you won’t believe why. Many parents across the nation are starting to speak out and express their concern about how the Left’s woke gender ideology threatens the safety and innocence of their children.
In Springfield, Illinois, YMCA SPY swim team member Abigail Wheeler went to her coach with concerns over a biological male using the girls’ locker room.
After the coach refused to do anything about it, a group of parents went to the YMCA’s Chief Executive Officer, Angie Sowle, and demanded that the facility require trans people to change clothes in single-person bathrooms.
Meanwhile, some members of the swim team also posted signs in the locker room that said “Women’s Rights,” “Biological Women Only,” and “Safe Sport.” But instead of changing the policy, head swim coach Alex Totura booted Wheeler off the team for promoting “hate speech.”
“After the signs went up, though, Wheeler’s father said that coach Totura retaliated by saying the girl was engaging in ‘hate speech’ and throwing her off the swim team,” Fox News reported. “Totura allegedly told the girl she was ‘not allowed to participate with the swim team and was asked to leave the pool area.’”
Of course, this is not the first time the YMCA punished members for opposing the Left’s transgender ideology.
Last August, a YMCA in Port Townsend, Washington, banned an eight-year-old after she expressed concerns about naked men walking around in the women’s locker room.
And in January, a girl was allegedly called a “bigot” by YMCA staff members in San Diego for not wanting naked men in her locker room. Riley Gaines, a former NCAA college swimming champion and women’s sports advocate, is holding a rally in Springfield in support of Wheeler in cooperation with the Illinois Freedom Caucus.
“16-yo girl banned from YMCA and kicked off her swim team for opposing a naked male in their locker room,” Gaines wrote on Twitter. “And to make matters worse, her older sister had to go through the exact same thing with Lia Thomas. But it’s ‘not really happening.’”
