Jerusalem Inspiration

Today's verse, from Psalms, praises the king of Israel and prays that he should conquer Israel’s enemies. God places a gold crown on his head as a symbol of His protection and blessing. The first king of Israel, Saul, came from the tribe of Benjamin. The Prophet Samuel anoints him in the hills of Samaria and the nation rallies behind him and crowns him king. In 1981, a few families established a new community in the Samarian hills in the land of the tribe of Benjamin. They called the village 'Ateret', the Hebrew word used in this verse for 'crown'. Over the years, the settlement has been blessed with growth and now boasts hundreds of people, synthesizing working the land with a commitment to God and the nation.

How to Con America and Get a Nuclear Bomb

How did Iran manage to dupe America to be set firmly on the road to nuclear weapons? Iran cleverly dodged inspections, increased its centrifuges and continued to enrich uranium. No deal is better than a bad deal.

Ancient Artifacts On Display

A rare inscription on an artifact dating to the times of King David has been deciphered; the pottery shards, pieced together by a team of Israeli archeologists, were discovered at the ancient city of Khirbet Qeiyafa in the center of the country.

Shivat Date Soap

Date soap is a natural product that contains date oil, olive oil and shea butter. It provides a soothing experience, leaving even the driest skin well moisturized and silkier. In the Bible, 'honey' refers to the date, in the list of the seven species.

The Samarian Iris by Zev Rothkoff.  Also called the Lortet Iris, this is the lightest colored large Iris in Israel. It grows in the eastern Upper Galilee and eastern Samaria; perhaps the Iris was used for beautification at King Saul's ancient coronation in Samaria!
