The Benefits of Waiting!

You know, I have made a big deal about our need to wait for the Lord to act, the type of attitude we should possess, and even the things that can hinder our ability to wait. However, I didn’t get to the good part! I have never address the benefits of waiting!
Well, I can think of a few benefits. First, He promises to hear and answer those who wait patiently for Him. The Psalmist assures us,
“I waited patiently for Yahweh.
He turned to me and heard my cry for help” (Psalm 40:1)
Which is a wonderful thought, but also, those who wait patiently will receive clear instructions so they can follow along the path He has chosen!
Make your ways known to me, O Yahweh,
    and teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me
because you are Elohim, my savior.
I wait all day long for you (Psalm 25:4-5)
That’s right, they will experience all of the good things He has in store for them, since they have remained in His will, instead of running in their own direction:
The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to anyone who seeks help from him (Lamentations 3:25)
One of the most amazing results, according to Isaiah, will be increased strength:
Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in Yahweh
    will be renewed.

they shall lift their wings and mount up close to God        as eagles mount up to the sun; they shall run
and not be weary, they shall walk and not become tired (Isaiah 40:31)
Yeah, I admit that we may feel pretty strong when we are actively taking charge, plotting our own course, and making things happen on our own. But the Lord’s ways are so different from ours. He promises to strengthen the one who remains still and quiet before Him, actively listening for His voice. He empowers us to endure the wait, and when He finally speaks, He gives us the strength to do what He says.
I have no idea what you are waiting for, but I do know that if you believe what our Father tells you in His Word and patiently rest in His choice and timing for your situation, you will experience a new spirit of joy and confidence. A renew relationship and intimacy with our Lord. You see, He is always faithful to those who seek Him and watch for His plans to unfold right before your eyes, on schedule! He never fails to come through! Believe His promises and rest confidently in the assurance of Isaiah 49:23: “Those who wait with hope for me will not be put to shame!”
