Franklin Graham Delivers Stunning Statement About Recent Hit Movie… Hollywood Is Furious

A new faith-based movie opened up in theaters recently, grossing more than $600,000 on its opening night, with expectations of bringing in anywhere from $5-10 million total for its first weekend.
“War Room,” produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, is a story about a couple with a rocky marriage who seek guidance and counsel from an older woman who teaches them the power of prayer.
Rev. Franklin Graham is quite pleased with the success the film has already shown, mostly because the mainstream media didn’t give the film much of a chance for success.
In a Facebook post Graham wrote, “The new movie ‘War Room’ is surprising some by its success at the box office. It’s about the power of prayer and one woman’s place where she goes to pray — she calls it her ‘war room.'”
“We’re in a spiritual battle, and I hope there will be thousands and thousands of war rooms across America with people praying earnestly for their families, lost souls, and this nation,” Graham added.
According to Market Watch, “War Room” led ticket sales for the weekend’s slate of movies, but though it has seen moderate success in its opening weekend, it isn’t expected to beat last year’s faith-based hit “Heaven Is For Real,” which brought in more than $22 million in its first weekend.
The success of “War Room” is coming despite minimal advertising on the part of Sony and despite the fact it is only showing in about 1,135 theaters across the country.
“It’s kind of laughable that the religious audience is still considered a niche audience,” Boxoffice.com chief analyst Phil Contrino said.
“The number of people in the country who consider themselves Christian is a large portion of the population. This movie is very targeted; it’s not going to open on 3,000 screens because it doesn’t need to. It’s opening in places with heavy religious populations because that’s where it will do well.”
Hollywood wasn’t expecting this movie to do very well at all, due largely to their haughty liberal dismissal of all things religious and faith-based.
The American people have shown the faith-averse elites in Hollywood that they were wrong about this movie.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word that faith-based movies actually do very well in theaters, despite Hollywood’s preference to avoid making such films.
