Jewish tradition teaches that the last of the seven abominations against
God, sowing discord among brothers, is
more despicable than all the other sins put together. One should be careful not
to even accidentally cause people to fight or argue. However, today this
abomination to God is violated almost more often than any other as terrorist
groups seek to destroy the very principles of brotherhood and tolerance. In
Syria and Iran, ISIS is persecuting Christians. In the Middle East, Muslim
groups are fighting each other. And all over the world, anti-Semitic groups and
individuals seek to delegitimize Israel by attacking Jews. The rise of global
anti-Semitism in recent years is a terrifying parallel to pre-Holocaust
attitudes towards Jews. Much of this new anti-Semitism is propagated through the
internet and social media, giving anti-Semites platforms from which they can
reach millions of people. The organization They Can't refuses to let that
happen. Their large network of supporters searches out anti-Semitic and other
hateful content on the internet and gets it taken down, cutting the ground out
from under the feet of anti-Semites and anti-Israeli groups.
