Today's verse shows the incredible depth and ability of the Hebrew language
to convey God's expectations for mankind. The same word in Hebrew, צדקה - tzedaka, which means "charity," also
means "justice," implying
that the giving of charity is a simple act of justice. Meir Panim puts these
words into action everyday. This past year, Meir Panim served 390,000 hot meals
in "free restaurant" soup kitchens across Israel, delivered 168,000
Meals-on-Wheels to the homebound, disabled and elderly, along with after school
lunch programs, and more. Meir Panim looks towards next year’s goals for feeding
the hungry and creating a better future for the needy of Israel.
