Throughout Scripture we meet biblical figures who prayed to the Almighty
for all of their needs. Jewish tradition explains that prayer, however, is not
meant to change the "mind" of the Almighty. What changes through prayer is us.
By recognizing the Source of all of the blessings in our lives, we bring
ourselves closer to God and elevate ourselves. The holiday of Hanukkah
commemorates the extraordinary blessing of salvation that God granted to the
Jewish nation during ancient times. This Hanukkah, 'Meir Panim' brings blessing
to thousands across Israel with a few very special programs. From holiday gift
boxes to joint celebrations between youth and the elderly, this organization
demonstrates that a little light can dispel the darkness.
