This is reminiscent of the idyllic times described by Micah when every man shall sit “under his vine and under his fig-tree; and none shall make them afraid” (4:4). Amos concludes by comparing the Jewish people to a sapling that is planted firmly in the ground. Their connection to the Land of Israel will never again be uprooted.
