Roseanne Barr received quite the support on Twitter after being cut by ABC following a tweet.
But what many people missed was a threat she made during the storm of tweets and outrage.
Barr said in a tweet, “you guys make me feel like fighting back. I will examine all of my options carefully and get back to U.”
In another tweet, she said, “I’m not a racist, I never was & I never will be. One stupid joke in a lifetime of fighting 4 civil rights 4 all minorities, against networks, studios, at the expense of my nervous system/family/wealth will NEVER b taken from me.”
Fox News reports:
It’s unclear what specifically Barr is talking about in terms of options. ABC is allowed to cancel any of its shows at any times. As for Barr’s firing, her tweet likely puts her in violation of her contract. While it’s unclear exactly what the terms of her negotiations with ABC were when it decided to bring her ’90s sitcom back for a revival, standard practice dictates that a morality clause be baked into actor’s contracts. This provides a remedy for an employer to terminate a public figure in the event they violate a crime or bring negative attention to the brand, in this case, ABC.
In a little over a day, a viral petition racked up nearly 100,000 signatures calling for a boycott of ABC and for another network to pick up her show.
Isn’t it interesting how ABC allows the ladies of ‘The View’ to call Christians like Mike Pence “mentally ill”, yet they fired Roseanne at the first sign of controversy? Not to mention, ABC also employs Jimmy Kimmel, the man who openly mocks our First Lady’s accent. Somehow, the liberals on the network never suffer the consequences, but CONSERVATIVES DO. It really does look like they were looking for any reason to can her show, which is crazy because of the insane ratings it was having.
