Senator Jeff Flake is much better at standing up to Republicans than to Democrats as anyone who remembers his miserable performance during the Kavanaugh hearings knows. His Mueller theater undermines conservative goals in the service of lefty agendas.
But, like so many Never Trumpers who talk about principles, Flake's only real principle is hating Trump.
Undermining Republican judicial nominations to hurt Trump is a sensible tactic to Never Trumpers, who having lost the machinery of government would rather see everything else come down with it too.
Flake is pretending that he stands for the rule of law. Nonsense. He stands for spite.
