We learn from today's verse that the Bible not only values the "good
Samaritan" who goes out of his way to save a life, but formally obligates us to
attempt to help someone in danger. This past week an American teenager, on his
way to bring food to soldiers in Gush Ezion, was brutally gunned down by an arab
terrorist. Another victim was an arab motorist. Both victims were treated by
Israeli emergency services. The staff of Israel's national blood bank knows
that blood saves, and they work tirelessly day and night to keep Israel's blood
supply safe, providing life saving efforts to anyone in need across the
country.
