Jeremiah 31:20 (The Israel Bible™)   הַצִּיבִי לָךְ צִיֻּנִים שִׂמִי לָךְ תַּמְרוּרִי  ...שׁוּבִי בְּתוּלַת יִשְׂרָאֵל שֻׁבִי אֶל עָרַיִךְ אֵלֶּה ירמיה לא:כ ha-tzee-vee lakh tzee-yu-neem si-mee lakh tam-ru-reem ... shu-vee b'--tu-lat yis-ra-ayl shu-vee el a-ra-yeekh ay-le Jerusalem Inspiration The prophet Jeremiah is telling the Jews who were going into exile that they should set up signposts so that they would not forget their way back to Israel. The word for signposts (ציונים / tzee-yoo-neem) is the same word as ‘Zion’ which is also closely related to the Hebrew word for excellence, מצוין / me-tsoo-yan.  The Jerusalem marathon is drawing near, the signposts mark the route, and its going to be excellent running through thousands of years of history.
