Title 42 is a public health measure invoked by Trump that gave authorities the ability to quickly deport illegals to protect the country during the pandemic.
With it expiring on May 23, all hell is expected to break loose.
The Border Patrol is already stretched thin dealing with the current chaos on the border.
Title 42’s expiration could turn the border crisis into a full-blown humanitarian catastrophe.
Border Patrol officials say they’ll be overwhelmed when Title 42 is gone.
Even some Senate Democrats are worried that the regime doesn’t have the resources in place to handle this new surge of illegal aliens.
Now that concern is spreading to the other side of the border.
Enrique Lucero is in charge of handling migrants for the Mexican city of Tijuana.
Tijuana, which is directly across the border from San Diego, is a major hub for illegal immigration.
He expressed his worries about the Biden regime’s handling of the crisis.
“We hope that the United States is very clear about how it will receive all those asylum applications once Title 42 is eliminated because it is not clear whether they will do it in person at the border or if they will do it online,” Lucero said.
“If they do it in person, there will be chaos at the border because everyone will want to leave the shelters and arrive at the border and stand in line. So that’s going to create chaos for them and us,” he added.
In Tijuana, there are at least 4,000 illegal aliens already counting down the days until Title 42 expires.
According to Moreno Mena of the Coalition for the Defense of Migrants, around 400 people a day are currently being turned back because of Title 42.
When Title 42 is gone, that number could jump into the tens of thousands, with Central Americans already in southern Mexico preparing to make the journey.
Mena shined a light on Biden’s role in creating the border crisis.
“The United States has even sent emissaries here to this side of the border to facilitate the passage to the U.S. and then organizations from the United States, NGOs, have crossed over to the Mexican side and are giving them support,” he remarked.
Joe Biden’s fanatical commitment to open borders is going to create a tragedy in both countries.
